Our Week 14th - 18th June 2021
Sunday 20 June 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
As you will undoubtedly be aware by now, we had to move reception and year four onto remote learning. By no means is this any cause for panic or keeping your children out of school. This is a highly precautionary measure in reflection of two positive cases in the year groups, respectively. As it stands, we have no other children showing symptoms. We are confident we have contained everything as well as we possibly could have.
This shift to remote learning and staff being offsite impacts more than those in Reception and Year Four. We have all of our team on remote teaching from these years. Still, we also elected to send anyone who had spent significant time in the year group home to limit cross bubble spread. Thus we are more depleted across the school than usually is the case. In particular, our leadership team has been reduced onsite by a significant amount. Please be patient with any enquiries or issues that we are working on as we run on limited capacity for the coming week.
THE OVAL ROAD ENTRANCE WILL BE SHUT UNTIL THE 28th JUNE
LINE ETIQUETTE - Please respect each other and the requests of the school
Please use the entirety of the arrival window DONT all arrive at 1520
Respect the line - don't push in - if you are causing an issue in the line, you are compromising the safety of the academy community. We will take the matter seriously.
Please wear a face-covering in the line unless you are exempt; it keeps us all safe.
Please move through the site quickly and do not stop for social reasons or provide snacks or adjust clothing for your child. They can wait the 3 minutes until you are offsite; the people are waiting behind you in the line can not.
Please ensure you inform us as quickly as possible if you keep your child out of school with suspected symptoms.
As it stands, the staff testing programme is in full swing. Massive praise to the parents of the positive cases; their swift action and communication helped contain the possible infection and has hopefully shortened the isolation period for Yr4 and Reception.
O'Keefe - 99.2%
Jemison - 97%
All the above will get an extra break time to enjoy this week.

Sports day, productions and graduations
We are endeavouring to run these as close to normal as we possibly can do. However, there will be no parents permitted at any of these events. Where practical and possible, we will be providing opportunities for these to be filmed - subject to the correct permissions being granted.
As discussed in a previous communication, we will not be offering onsite summer school provision. Still, we will be writing to you shortly with an overview of the provided summer support.
2nd July INSET
The academy is closed on the 2nd July for a network INSET day focused on preparing staff for the recovery and acceleration learning plans in the Autumn.
