Our Week - 2nd - 6th March 2020

Ark Oval Primary Academy – News of the Week

Principals Summary

Dear Parent and Carers,

Last week was busy, REALLY busy.

In perhaps the highest pressured week of my professional life we dealt with many challenges of varying sizes – but as always, the community (both in and out of the school) pulled together and we not only got through it – we flourished.

The school has, and will continue to, follow all recommendations regarding COVID-19 to the very highest standard. We will continue to inform you of the appropriate developments as advised by Croydon Borough Council, the Department for Education and the National Health Service. Whilst this attracted some attention locally, we will continue to keep you informed to every possible extent and act in the best interests of the children in the school.

Ofsted also finally came calling this week – we should receive the judgement within 25 days and will publish this to you as soon as we physically can. Please refrain from any comments online or questioning staff regarding the judgement – if we let the provisional judgement become public, we risk its annulment and immediate reinspection. As I’m sure you appreciate – we do not wish that to happen.

A HUGE thank you to everyone from our community who was so unreservedly positive about the school, from the 60+ parents who took the time to complete parent view, the 19 text responses and the handful of parents who went out of their way to email Ofsted with their praise of the work we have done in the last 18 months.

I very much look forward to sharing the outcome with you.

Parent Views

Even though Ofsted has come and gone we will continue to track this survey – please feel free to continue to contribute.
