Our Week 30th - 3rd April 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Another week draws to a close. Again we find ourselves in the surreal position of a school of 610 reduced to 15 children onsite, and the rest of our community spread out across the rest of Croydon.
This dislocation could have lead to a sense of lost identity, direction and cohesiveness. However, I must commend the staff of the academy for tirelessly - no matter what their situation and location, for successfully checking in with every child in the school at least once.
These calls are a massive undertaking for the staff and alongside the production and support of various remote learning resources, supporting the children in school and working on how we bring the children back into the school after such a long break. We are always eager to take constructive feedback regarding our efforts. Hence, if something you feel that is done but not necessary or unclear let us know!
The Ed support YouTube page where you can access a variety of phonics lessons, short stories and chapter books read by staff members is part of our ongoing strategy for helping children and parents remotely. Each week we will pick out a few of these videos to showcase with you.
