Our Weeks - 10th - 21st May 2021
Monday 24 May 2021
Apologies for last weeks missing update! As always, we are striving to keep to the very highest standards - but we are human. Unfortunately, I am not beyond some post-vaccine side effects, which derailed publishing somewhat.
We have been working flat out at school to make sure we provide the best possible end to the school year. This challenge, even now, is a huge undertaking. The staff continue to work above and beyond all possible expectations. As always, a kind word of encouragement goes a very long way with them.
On a separate note PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE monitor what your child is doing on Roblox and similar web-based social games. We have dealt with FIVE cases in the last week of these mediums being used to contact children from inappropriate and unknown adults. This issue is now the bulk of our safeguarding caseload at school and an ongoing problem. Almost all these games have an age restriction of 13; you MUST be aware of what is going on with your child online.
LINE ETIQUETTE - Please respect each other and the requests of the school
Please use the entirety of the arrival window DONT all arrive at 1520
Respect the line - don't push in - if you are causing an issue in the line, you are compromising the safety of the academy community. We will take the matter seriously.
Please wear a face-covering in the line unless you are exempt; it keeps us all safe.
Please move through the site quickly and do not stop for social reasons or provide snacks or adjust clothing for your child. They can wait the 3 minutes until you are offsite; the people are waiting behind you in the line can not.
Please ensure you inform us as quickly as possible if you keep your child out of school with suspected symptoms.
As it stands, we have no pupils self-isolating, and the staff testing programme is in full swing.
Please be aware numerous schools in our locality are back to bursting bubbles - we MUST be vigilant and careful.
Turing Class - 99.2%
Wonder - 100%
All the above will get an extra break time to enjoy this week.

You may already have encountered Ms Carnegie on the gates or around the school. We are pleased to have her with us as a member of the leadership team. She adds some additional capacity to help us provide a deeper level of pastoral support across a wider group of pupils. Im sure you will give her a warm Oval welcome.
This week is National Gardening Week at teh academy - teachers would be keen to hear from anybody with an allotment of such like.
Dont forget next week is half term - there is NO INSET DAY either side of half term so see you Friday AND the first Monday back.
House Point Party
This term the winning house has chosen to have a inschool party as their reward - this will be happening on Thursday.
