Ark Oval Primary Academy's motto, Striving for Excellence, underpins everything we do. It drives our mission, to provide a school where children, staff and parents, feel passionate about ensuring every child fulfils their potential and becomes an all-round exceptional citizen, with the skills to succeed in life. We opened in September 2011 and we have already produced great results with 85% of our reception children achieving Good Levels of Development (the national average is 60%). We are now poised to move to our next exciting and important phase. Our staff have been pivotal to our success and we aim to develop your career through an outstanding professional development programme. Training opportunities
Our training doesn’t stop once you reach a certain level or learn a certain skill – we’ll support you throughout your whole career, from starting out as a trainee to running your own school. In order to deliver the best training and network events, we offer twice as many training days as standard. Additionally, up to three times a year, people working in specific roles or subject areas get together to share best practice and deepen their subject knowledge with peers from across the Ark network.
Our online, cloud-based learning platform also supports your development - delivering exciting content straight to you, from exemplary teaching video clips to best practice resources. All of this is in addition to the training sessions that are delivered locally by Ark Oval Primary.
Be part of a network
Joining our school means becoming part of a network of education experts who are all united by the same purpose - a commitment to making a difference where it matters most. You will have the opportunity to come together with your peers locally, nationally and sometimes even internationally, to share resources, learning and good practice. You'll also be supported to focus on what you do best. We are always looking for ways to take away additional pressures, to give you more freedom to concentrate on improving education outcomes for young people. We offer support beyond the classroom; from prioritising strong behaviour management strategies to giving you access to our award-winning data management platform.

From creating and working with new curricula and teaching techniques, to collaborating with other schools and partners to share what works, we’re always aiming for system change. Through Ark Ventures, we incubate, launch and scale initiatives, such as Mathematics Mastery, English Mastery, Institute for Teaching and Ambition School Leadership, that address some of the most intractable issues in education and society – in the UK and around the world.
